Upcoming Classes

Hi All!

It's class time again! Here's what's coming up class wise for me at Scrap 'N Friends in Brookville:

First we have our continuing Te4chnique Tags class - this month we're focusing on Perfect Pearls. We will be using the powders as well as the mists. Class is Tuesday, Jan. 8th at 12:30 or 6:00 and costs $3.

Next up is Copic Class! This month's card is Key to my Heart. She's by My Favorite Things a la Modes collection. We'll be using Y23, Y26, Y28, E000*, E01*, E02*, RV52, RV55, E23, E25, E27. This class is Tuesday, Jan. 15th at 12:30 or 6:00 and cost $4.

Krafty Krew Challenge - Celebration Edition

Hi All!

Now, on with the challenge. This week our mission is "It's Party Time!", create a New Year celebration card or an invitation. Party on dudes! I used "Happy Hour" and lots of sparkly things....

She's colored with Copics (E000, E01, E02, E51, E53, E55, C5, C7, C9, B02, B04, B06, R35), I used gold Stickles, gold glitter tape, a rhinestone flourish (both by Recollections) and colored the "2013" with Jelly Roll clear Stardust pen. Shew! That's a lot of sparkles. You should see how my drawing board shines! LOL

This is week 2 of our challenge, still plenty of time to get in on the fun. I thought I'd try something a bit different - no I didn't use something else to color her with - that's funny. She's colored with Copics as per usual, but I embossed a clear package and then add some Pearl White Ranger Dauber ink to it to give it a snowy frame and put Ms. Frostina underneath. The print paper is by Bo Bunny.

This is week 1 of our challenge, so you plenty of time to get in on the fun. I got "Blingy with it" and used glitter tape, Stickles on the embossed image and glittery paper. Mrs. Claus is Colored with Copics, the background is an embossing folder by Sizzix, the tree is a Basic Grey die by Sizzix. Love it!

Bombshell's Get Ornamental

Hi All!

Holy cow! We're rapidly approaching C-Day! With this in mind, lovely Ms. December Monika's challenge is to make an ornament using our Bombshell Stamps. I decided to keep with my Muse Monday theme and made my ornament featuring the "Pin-Stripes" set.

I was really bummed that I couldn't get a shot I like with it hanging on the tree - grrrrr. Anywho, I used some chipboard and sticky back canvas by Ranger, the die cut ornament is Basic Grey by Sizzix. I inked it up with Distress Inks, stamped it with Distress Embossing Ink and used Ranger's Gold Tinsel embossing powder. I used a dangly pearl from the Tim Holtz collection to add a bit more elegance. I'm really digging the Pin-Stripes stamp on it. It reminds me of some of my grandparent's old glass ornaments with the flourishes glittered on. So there you go, another way to use the Pin-Stripes set!

Here's a little closer look at it. Still doesn't do it justice compared to the real thing.

Muse Mondays - Pin-Stripes

Hi All!

We have this groovy little thing going on at Bombshell Stamps - it happens every Monday. What is it you ask? Why it's Muse Mondays! Every month a Bombshell stamp set is featured and each Monday us Bombshell girlies take turns showing you cool ways to use the set - maybe in a way you hadn't thought of. This month's featured set is "Pin-Stripes". I know you may be thinking "what the heck would I do with those?" But really there's a lot, just check out what I did for example:

 I grouped them together in a cool design and heat embossed them in black on black cardstock. I used the diamond plate embossing folder by Tim Holtz as well as that metal crown. The diamond plate is embossed on adhesive foil by Ranger. Tada - simple and elegant. You could use these pin-stripes just like a flourish - only more manly. Check out the other Muse Monday posted on the Bombshell blog and get inspired!

Today we have another wonderful holiday image to share! It's called "Hanging the Wreath". Our challenge for this fortnight is "Deck the Halls"! (these challenges run for 2 weeks)  Create any project that features a Sassy Studio Designs image and use 3 or more different embellishments on it!  Remember you MUST use a SSD image to play along, bonus points if you use one of the freebies, of course.  So grab the freebie, and we hope you'll play along!!

This is week 2, so you still have time to get in on the fun. I combined "Hanging the Wreath" with one of the backgrounds we had recently, "Home for the Holidays".

I used Copics to do the coloring, i-rock glittery nail heads as baubles on the wreath, a brad for the doorknob, a ribbon for the wreath's bow, glitter tape and Hint of Violet Glitter Frosting by Flower Soft for the snow.

The theme this week is to use the Trimming the Tree image along with 3 different embellishments. Drum-roll please.....

 

Tada! I used a Jolie's sticker, rhinestones, i-Rock nail heads and some glittery Spica marker on the star. All the print paper is by KaiserCraft. She's colored in Copics of course - R35, R37, R39, G21, G24, G55, E000, E01, E02, E51, E53, E55, C5, C7, and C9.

Frosty Hues

Hi All!

Been a cra-zay-zee week. I'm glad it's on to a new one! That's said, it's time for this week's Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge - Frosty Hues. Christmas creations in Cold colours { Lilac's Blue's white & silver} with frosty sparkles. I give you Miss Helga Frost....

 

I just love her! My daughter collects Monster High Dolls and one of the newer ones she has is very steam-punk looking, so I've gone thru a steam-punk phase. Anyway, Ms. Frost is colored with Copics; BG0000, BG000, B000, B00, B01, RV000, RV01, V12, V15, E000, E01, E02, E51, E53, E55. The background is embossed using the Tim Holtz snowflake background, then I went over them with some stickles. The printed paper is actually a Bo Bunny journal spot.
