Patriotic Pin-Up

Hi All!

The 4th of July may be over, but that doesn't mean I can't created some more fabulous patriotic stuff! Meet Patriotic Pin-Up Sassy  - now available at Sassy Studio Designs. I love anything patriotic and I don't have a whole lot of stamps I can color that scream it - but this one does. She's a real firecracker!

I used Distress Stains (Salty Ocean, Festive Berries and Silver) to create the background. I thought the splats looked sort of like fireworks. Ms. Sassy is Colored with Copics using E000, E01, E02, E97, E11, YR14, E08, R24, R27, R29, B02, B04, B06, Y23, Y26 and Y28.

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

OMG!

Hi All!

I thought I'd share this bright new image by Sassy Studio Designs with you today - TinkerSassy! I think Tink is pretty sassy already - but now she's even more so!

Apparently, I have a fixation with green here the last couple of projects.  She's a digi image of course, so I traced her wings onto some acetate, cut them out and Stickled them. I like the more transparent look on fairy wings. The print paper is Bo Bunny and the "OMG" sentiment is a Studio G stamp.

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring a couple of great challenges, both are fantasy themed. One is at Glitter N Sparkle and the other is Hobbycutz. Check them out and create your own fantasy themed project!

I'd also like to enter this in the following challenges:

Card Makin Mamas - Monochromatic

Addicted to Stamps and More - Make Your Mark
Ruby's Rainbow - Things with Wings

Life is the Bubbles

Hi All!

Quick someone help! I have "Under the Sea" stuck in my head! Eeek! Sorry, but the whole time I worked on this project I had Sebastian singing in my brain. If you haven't guessed, this week's theme for Dare to be Sassy Thursday is Disney Princess - use a Disney Princess or Villain in your project. How easy is that? And Lindsay, just had a new release of new Disney Chicks! I used Ariel Pinup. She still has her legs, so this must be after Ursula took her voice LOL!

I colored Ariel and the background in Copics. The background is an older image from Sassy Studio that I had that has since been retired, but I had to use it! I went a little pearl happy too as you can see.

So... you're going to join in on the fun right? Of course you are because there's a prize involved! Create something gorgeous using a Disney Sassy and add your project to the linkz at the bottom of the Dare to be Sassy Thursday post. You could be the next winner!

A special thank you to Lindsay (the fab artist behind the Sassy Studio Collections).  The Talk Nerdy To Me sentiment is by Unity Stamps. I saw it and had to have it - it's too cute and those glasses brads are to die for!

We'll be using A LOT of Blue greens obviously. Here's the list of what I used on this project:

E000*, E01*, E02*, E51*, E53*, E55*, BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18, R22*. (*) Denotes colors we've used in class before. Our main focus will be her hair.

Hitting the Beach

Hi All!

School's almost out, and the weather is finally starting to feel warm like it should this time of the year. Perfect for this week's Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge - Hitting the Beach! Now, you may find this hard to believe, but I have not been to the beach. I don't count 10 minutes in Monterrey Bay and the lake doesn't count either. Ahh, someday. But today my Sassy Design is at the beach! I used Sarong Sassy for my beachin' card (sorry, couldn't resist.)

She's colored with Copics as is the crazy wave background - I stamped that with Hero Arts Neon Blue and colored it in, I know I must be insane coloring all those swirls, but it looks really cool. I also used the A2 Deckled Edge die by Spellbinders.

So now it's your turn to Dare to be Sassy with us this week. Use a Sassy Studio Designs image (bonus points!) and create a beach themed project. Make sure you link up with us on the Sassy Studio Designs blog and maybe you'll be a winnah!

Black and White

Hi All!

It seems like its been a loooonnnggg time since I posted anything. Been busy here with end of school PTO stuff and the like. But I have something for you today! Music please....

It's Dare To Be Sassy Thursday!!!!! Our theme today is black and white with a pop of color. I realize that last week's creation for Derby Days would've been perfect for this challenge as well, I think Theadora works just as nicely....
I used all Neutral Gray Copics for the main parts and R29 (Lipstick red) for my pop of color. It's pretty simple and clean, just the way I like it. I think the black and white gives it a nice retro look too.

Soooo, now it's your turn to show us your black and white with a pop of color! Make something fabulous using a Sassy Design and use the challenge guidelines and make sure you link your project on the Sassy blog. Good luck and have fun!

Turning Japanese

Hi All!

It's Dare to be Sassy Thursday with Sassy Studio Designs! This week's theme is "April Showers Bring May Flowers" - use flowers in your creation and of course a Sassy image. I used Japan Honey for my image... I couldn't resist using the 80's song by the Vapors in my title. It's a catchy little tune...

I used Song Bird by Graphic 45 for my print papers. The branch is actually the holy branch from the Tim Holtz die and the washi tape (Oooo, how appropriate!) is by Darice, if I'm not mistaken the paper flowers at Petaloo.

Okay, now you know what I'm going to say... it's your turn to join us! Create a fabulous design with a Sassy image and flowers - make sure you add it to the link at the bottom of the blog post on Sassy Studio Designs to win a prize.

Syrena

Hi All!

It's Dare To Be Sassy Thursday! Our challenge this week is Fancy Folds, I'm not sure how "fancy" the folds are on my card, but I think it'll work. I'd love to learn how to do some of the gorgeous easel cards and other fancier folded cards. Pintrest here I come! LOL

I used Syrena on my little project and decided not to go with typical mermaid colors. (thanks to my daughter - she's colored some of my digis and goes funky with them)

Apparently I missed a corner there (I hate it when it wants to curl up Grrr). She's colored with Copic and the print paper is October Afternoon, Swim Club if I'm not mistaken.

So why not stop by Sassy Studio Designs and join us in our challenge. Add you creation to the Dare to be Sassy Thursday blog post and you could win!

Practically Perfect

Hi All!

I created this thinking about Mother's Day. Yes, I know it's a little ways off yet, but holy cow this year has just been flying by! I used Mary Poppins by Sassy Studio Designs, because she's "Practically perfect in every way". Check out all the sassy designs available - especially the new Oz collection!

I colored Ms. Poppins with Copics and did my fun new favorite thing by adding some stippling behind her. The measuring tape is washi fabric tape by Petaloo.

Lucky

Hi All!

I know St. Patrick's Day is over, well technically, I did do this project on St. Patrick's Day. Does that count? Anyway, I on an Oz kick thanks to Lindsay and her fab designs in the Sassy Studio Designs new release so I used Oz the Great and Powerful herself in this one. Yes, herself. I like she made Oz a chic. :-)

She does look a little off kilter, but I really surprised I could get it to stay still without rolling away. Actually her outfit has more of a greenish tint in person. Unfortunately, I couldn't get things to cooperate. I know, gripe, gripe, gripe. I used my Wizard of Oz Graphic 45 paper once again (love it!), can't be helped, it's the perfect green. I colored her with Copic and tried something a little different with her hat and clothes. (Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie" was stuck in my head the whole time I was working on this. Anyway...) I started out coloring them with C5, C7 and then I used G99 and C9 then blended it all together and then went over the entire outfit etc. with G21. I think it has a sort of flannel look to it now. Her skin is E00, E02 and E11; hair is C9, C7, B24 and B000. Look at that! I remembered.

I'd like to enter her in the following challenges:
Fetch-a-Sketch Challenge 46
Speedy Fox and Friends - Green
Digi Galore - St. Patrick's Day
Sandy's Crafty Creations - Anything Goes using Shades of Green
The Crafter's Cafe - Green and/or St. Patrick's Day
Milk and Coffee Challenge - Go Green

Well that's it for now - Happy Belated St. Patty's Day!

Until Next Time,

Follow The Yellow Brick Road - Sunday Edition

Hi All!

I hope you got a chance to check out the fabulous work in yesterday's edition of the Sassy Studio Designs new release blog hop. Today we have a new batch (I sound like I'm talking about Gremlins!) If you haven't guessed, the theme of the release is "The Great and Powerful Oz" and Lindsay did a beautiful job capturing the characters. I got to work with Evanora - the Wicked Witch of the East. Although I haven't had the chance to see the movie yet, I tried to get her as right as possible.

She's colored with Copic and I got to use my Graphic 45 Wizard of Oz paper! I'm soooo excited. I got it because  well, it's Graphic 45. I had no idea really what I was going to use it for (this seems to happen more and ore lately LOL). The jewel in the center of the bow is Close To My Heart and I colored it with a G16 to match everything.

Now make sure you leave a comment and follow the yellow brick road to check out the rest of the team's creations - you could win an image yourself!
